Traditional interiors combine interior elements from traditional cultures with contemporary home design trends. Traditional interiors not only reflect the winds of fashion, but also create spaces that are constantly relevant, cosy and elegant.
American classic style. The American Classical style is based on the architectural influences of colonial America and the southern states. It is characterised by simple lines, natural materials and warm colours. It is characterised by solid natural wood furniture, chandeliers and carpets in traditional patterns. The interior details are solid and elegant, creating a cosy and homely environment.
English rustic style. English rustic interiors are characterised by cosiness, simplicity and natural elements. Natural stone and aged wood are often used in this style to create the effect of old, untreated surfaces. The structures of the dwelling are highlighted, with wooden ceiling and wall beams, and traditional finishing materials such as clay plaster and ceramics. The house is decorated with traditional textiles.
Oriental style. Oriental interior design combines a wide range of influences from Asian and Eastern cultures. This style uses authentic traditional interior details typical of Eastern cultures, rich colours, carved wood and metal decorations. The Oriental style blends perfectly into contemporary interior aesthetics, adding an exotic and mysterious touch.
Mediterranean interior style. The Mediterranean style reflects the traditional interior decoration features from southern Europe and North Africa – Italy, Spain, Greece and Morocco. This style is favoured for its use of bright colours, ornamental ceramics, frescoes and carved stone. The cosiness and vitality created by the striking combinations of materials and colours is a key feature of this design.
Characteristic elements from a particular culture, such as textiles and carpets, interior decor and artwork, and antiques, are essential to the traditional interior style, giving it an authentic and natural feel.
Traditional interior design reflects the influence of different cultures and eras around the world. Although different traditional styles may differ in their aesthetic solutions, they all share a common goal: to create cosy, expressive spaces marked by a long tradition.
